Village by Village fights poverty by empowering communities in rural villages in Ghana. Founded by Neil Kerfoot, who left his job in the UK to move to Ghana after building a well there on his 40th birthday back in 2006, Village by Village is a small grass roots charity with a big heart. The charity makes the greatest impact by working in partnership with people living in poverty, reaching out to those in need by digging wells, improving sanitation and providing educational scholarships for children.
Village by Village is a charity on a mission. By 2016 it would like to have provided 100 villages with clean drinking water, education and sanitation. It has already built a 300-seater information centre and school library in Gboloo Kofi, and helped set up a sewing business in a village without light and power. Pack books and you'll help furnish a library; pack pens and pencils and you'll give children the chance to enjoy learning, and pack car parts and you'll help Village by Village maintain regular contact with those in remote communities.
Gboloo Kofi is about a 2-hour drive from Accra. From Accra head to Aburi by road. From Aburi, make your way to Adawsa and then Gboloo Kofi.
